Take a moment to look back on the past 5 to 10 years of your life. How much has changed? As life goes on, very few things will remain the same. And while most of us accept change as a healthy and natural part of life, it still requires a lot of us, especially when it comes to finances.Â
Many of us make financial decisions based on our current situation. But what happens when your financial priorities change due to the addition of a child or a career transition? And what about the effect of market ups and downs on your portfolio? Have your financial plan and strategies been adjusted to align with the changes you’ve experienced? In order to stay committed to your plan, you need to have complete confidence that it is still working to take you where you want to go.Â
If you are nodding your head as you read this, here’s what we would like to offer: a cup of coffee and a second opinion.
A Financial Plan Review
By appointment, you’re welcome to come in, sit down, and stay awhile. We’ll ask you to outline your financial goals and review your current plan/401(k)/investment portfolio/insurance, etc., so that we know where you stand, where you want to be, and so that we can get on the same page with your objectives.
We can answer any questions you may have about the market, strategies, or basic financial tips and principles. Then we can apply your concerns, ideas, and aims to your current plan to see how everything lines up.
A Second Look Is Always Worth It
Once we have a good overview of your financial picture, we will be able to reevaluate and readjust. If we think your investments/insurance, etc., continue to be well suited to your long-term goals despite the market turmoil, we’ll gladly tell you so and send you on your way.
If, on the other hand, we think your plan no longer fits your goals, we’ll explain why, in plain English. And, if you’d like, we’ll recommend some alternatives. It may be that minor adjustments are needed based on your age, current economic woes, or a change in priorities and plans.Â
It never hurts to take a second look at your financial plan to ensure that it’s up to date, still applicable to all aspects of your life, and ideally suited to help pursue your long-term dreams. Regardless of the outcome of our second look, you will have confidence in your decisions and in your financial plan.Â
Either way, the coffee is on us!
Let Blackbridge Financial help you evaluate where you are now, determine where you would like to go, and address any apparent gaps. If you are ready to revisit your financial plan, email us at [email protected] or call 704.960.9646 to schedule an appointment!Â
